Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Benny Buller is founder and Chief Executive Officer of VELO3D. Prior to founding VELO3D, Benny was an investor at Khosla Ventures. He founded VELO3D to address the limited production capabilities available for additive manufacturing. Consistent with his penchant for problem solving and identifying solutions, he resolved to change the manufacturing market. Earlier in his career, Benny worked at Applied Materials, where he developed multidisciplinary and highly-precise inspection and manufacturing systems for the semiconductor industry. Later, he founded First Solar’s device physics team, and led efforts that resulted in a more than 50% increase in solar cell efficiency. Benny earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from Jerusalem University. He also earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Israel institute of Technology.
Chief Customer Officer
Richard Nieset is Chief Customer Officer at VELO3D, responsible for building and managing the customer facing teams in marketing, sales and customer success. Rich has an extensive background in technology including control systems development engineering, relational database development, product design and lifecycle management. He was part of the startup team at Agile Software which became the premier supplier of PLM (IPO in 1999) and was acquired by Oracle Corp in 2007. After Agile, he went on to guide commercial teams in other successful startups including Knova Software, PivotLink, and Pixlee. His educational background is a dual major in Physics and Computer Science at Loyola University in New Orleans as well as a BA in Business and Finance.
Executive Vice President of Operations
Chris Brozek is Executive Vice President of operations at VELO3D, where he brings diverse experience in building and scaling emerging growth, venture-backed technology companies. Prior to joining VELO3D, he led operations at ThoughtSpot, where he served as acting CFO and head of operations, with responsibility for corporate strategy, sales operations, global support, manufacturing and G&A. Previously, he led manufacturing and operations at Picarro, Violin Memory, and Arch Rock Corporation. Chris is a U.S. Navy veteran and served as an officer aboard fast attack submarines. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
Vice President, Process Engineering
Dr. Gregory Brown began his career at VELO3D in 2016 as a senior technologist.Since then, he has held various positions in process engineering management, including his current role as VP, process engineering. Prior to joining VELO3D, Gregory worked at Kinestral Technologies as a senior process engineer and backend group leader. He has also worked as a research scientist with Applied Materials, MiaSole and Nanosolar. Gregory earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University in materials science. He earned Master’s of Science and a PhD degree in Materials Science from University of California, Berkeley.
Vice President, Engineering
Alex began his career at VELO3D in 2017 as the Sr. Director of Software Engineering. Since then, he has held a number of key roles developing the software capabilities that differentiate VELO3D’s solution culminating in his current role as VP of Engineering. Prior to joining VELO3D, Alex held a number of engineering and software management roles at Finisar Corporation and GUZIK Technical Enterprises. He earned a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Novosibirsk State University.
Vice President, Finance
Keith Steel serves as Vice President of finance at VELO3D. Previously, Keith served as vice president of finance at Kateeva, and corporate controller at Cogenra Solar. He has held a variety of positions at Novellus Systems, including sales controller, project manager and director of finance. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, first as an auditor in the high-tech practice, then as an expatriate audit manager in PwC’s multinational practice in Taipei, Taiwan. Keith earned Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Riverside and a Master’s degree in Accounting from San Jose State University.
Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships
Lynda leads business development for VELO3D. Lynda is focused on growing VELO3D’s distribution, strategic and financial partnerships, globally. Prior to VELO3D, Lynda was the Global Head of M&A and business development for GE Digital, where she built the business development team and acquired several industrial software companies. Prior to GE, Lynda held a number of business development, strategy and venture roles at Microsoft, helping to grow the Azure ecosystem into a multi-billion dollar business. Lynda started her career in investment banking in the M&A group at Deutsche Securities. She has achieved her CFA designation and earned her Honors Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada.
Vice President, Technical Partnerships
Dr. Zach Murphree is VELO3D’s VP of Technical Partnerships. In previous roles with VELO3D, Zach served as the director of business development, head of product and applications and head of the hardware engineering group. His background includes engineering roles for energy companies, where he was in charge of introducing metal additive manufacturing technology to a Fortune 500 energy company. Prior to joining VELO3D, Zach led North America sales for Concept Laser. He earned Bachelor of Science and PhD degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas and has been granted more than 35 patents.
Senior Director, Customer Services
Chris leads VELO3D‘s customer service team. Prior to joining VELO3D, Chris worked in several technology-based industries in customer service and operations roles. Most recently, he was senior director of customer service for Mimosa Networks. His experience spans the technology sector, from semiconductor capital equipment to photovoltaics, outdoor wireless networking and additive manufacturing. Throughout, he has participated in or led manufacturing, engineering, product management, operations, IT, or customer service teams. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology degree from DeVry University and Master of Business Administration degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
